WHY WE CODE
The proliferation of technology in our everyday lives has reached an unprecedented scale and many young people may never be granted the necessary STE(A)M education to bridge the gap. Exacerbated by the lack of support it may seem like an impossible task for a young mind to learn something seemingly complex, it’s definitely an attainable reality. Coding lies at the intersection of STEM and creativity, so it’s a great way for everyone to both express themselves and develop critical thinking skills, while also exploring a potential future career. For girls especially, who are underrepresented in STEM fields, coding may be a unique entry point to get them interested in STEM.
Coding and Digital literacy is arguably one of the most important skills sets for young people to acquire today and in the very near future. The development of computational thinking involves considering a problem and breaking it down into single-action steps. Each of these steps is handled in the most efficient way possible. There is also an element of abstraction in computational thinking, which allows your child to move from a specific solution to a specific problem and generalise it to other situations.
The result is a paradigm shift in thinking about how the world works.

OUR COMMUNITY
We Code is part of a greater community that has strengthened it’s legitimacy, acceptability and sustainability. These relationships have made our services available to a wider population across several international borders. We have delivered programmes on behalf of corporates and NGO's to their beneficiaries however many of our community members are there for a meaningful two way engagement where proactive, purposeful collaboration always results in the highest impact. Our Corporate partners often bring much more than a contractual relationship and often skilled volunteers revolutionise our delivery models. NGO’s in turn have improved our community stakeholder engagement ten fold and provided assistance in identifying key talent in communities.
